Practical questions and answers

When does the competition start in 2026?
Inspection on Saturday, July 4th.
First competition day Sunday, July 5th.

What does it cost to register and when do you pay?
The price is 10,900 SEK including VAT, which includes a driver plus a co-driver. In addition to racing for a week, you will each receive a racing t-shirt and have access to the awards ceremony party. Regarding payment, everything is paid at once, and you are not registered until the money is with Street Week.

Can one receive an invoice and, if so, directly to the sponsor?
Yes, when you reach the payment section in the registration, you can choose the payment method that suits you, and this includes sending the invoice to another recipient.

Is it possible to cancel the registration?
No.

Do you get your money back if the event is canceled due to rain?
No, unfortunately that is not possible; regardless of the reason, no money will be refunded.

I didn't have time to register, is there any possibility to register late?
We currently have a registration cap of 200 cars. If that is reached and more want to participate, we will establish a waiting list. You must be registered on nitroz.se to be placed on the waiting list. It costs 500 SEK to be on the waiting list. There are always people who have to cancel, and if that happens, we will pass on their spot to the first in line.

500 SEK, What a robbery!
So you could see it that way, on the other hand, maybe we can avoid those who have no intention of competing but just sign up for the sake of it. We end up spending a hell of a lot of time on people who just put their names on the list and are unreachable when they are actually offered a spot, while those who intend to compete always respond.

I can't find where to register.
Onwww.nitroz.se do you find information

Can I transfer my registration myself if the car breaks down or if I get blisters in week 28?
No, you cannot do that. However, we will help you convey your position if there is one in the queue system we have established.

My car that I intended to race with isn't ready, can I switch cars?
Yes, you can, preferably let me know beforehand but at the latest when you arrive at the first competition track.

Do all co-driver/passenger names need to be provided at registration?
We would like to have the name of your Co-driver included in the registration fee, but it is not an absolute requirement. Your other passengers can be registered upon arrival at Street Week. The process is as follows: Your unregistered extra passenger buys a weekly pass, and when we see that he fits in the car and is listed on the inspection paper, we cut the weekly band and he receives a racer band instead. All passenger seats are recommended to be equipped with a 3-point seatbelt.

Is it possible to park the trailer on the first lane and leave it there for the week?
Yes, it does, however, the availability to get the cart out during the week is very limited. NOTE! Only place it in the designated spot.

Do all registered participants receive a T-shirt?
Only the two who are included in the registration will receive a t-shirt after the inspection. Other race passengers will have the opportunity to purchase a racer shirt at the secretariat where the passenger approval was made after the inspection.

Will there be food available for purchase at the venue?
Yes. There will be food available for purchase.

Do you have to have a license?
Yes. The license is included in the registration fee.

When does the inspection open?
We open the inspection the day before the race starts, from 09:00 until the inspection staff can manage.

I can come first on Sunday, is it possible to have it inspected then?
We will of course try to help you with that, but only as time allows.

My car wasn't ready on time, can I inspect the car and join the competition later during the competition week when it's ready?
It's fine, as long as you have informed the competition management that you will not be showing up for the first track, but you will receive penalty points for missed driving and missed Check Points. NOTE! Please inform the competition management so that they do not remove you from the system. If we know when you are coming, we can prepare with an inspector.

60-second jackpot
60 seconds for missing a lap on the track + 60 more for missing a checkpoint plus 60 for the next missed checkpoint and a 60-second penalty for illegal towing, that adds up to a jackpot. -But then I'm hopeless. -Yes, you're apparently not better than this.

I forgot my insurance certificate at home, but I promise I have one.
If you cannot present a valid traffic insurance, you are not allowed to participate in this competition.

I am too fancy to camp, is there access to a hotel?
When we announce which tracks the races will take place on, the hunt for good hotels also begins. Some places are easier to find hotels in than others.

Is it a Driver Meeting?
Yes. Every day 45 minutes before the start, we meet at the starting pad.

Is there a class leader who tells us when we should start?
No. We will start at the scheduled time, unless it rains.

I have never driven on a drag racing track before?
No problem, just let me know and we'll have a briefing on how it works. The mandatory briefing for first-timers takes place right after the first drivers' meeting of the week at the starting grid. There you'll learn how to start the lights and other bits and pieces. We assume you already know how to drive a car.

Is there access to electricity on the track?
No. You can bring your own electricity if you need to.

Do we each need to have our own generator if we want power in the depot?
The generator is okay but only the generator and nothing else. Cables and other items must be transported by yourself.

Do all race cars get to stand on asphalt in the pit area?
No. There are no guarantees for that. Grass, gravel, clay, and/or puddles can be present where your spot will be, and with a bit of bad luck, all of them in combination.

Can you book a specific spot in the depot?
No, you follow the officials' instructions. The first in chooses from the provided areas. The exception is if you have a disability that we believe may require a reserved spot in the depot, please contact us before the race atinfo@streetweek.se.

Can the faster cars at least be allowed to stand closer to the starting line?
No. It is the first-come, first-served principle that applies.

There was a lot of trash left over after race day, what do we do?
Place them in the designated spot; if it gets stressful for you, put the trash in a bag and leave it at the depot location, or you can take it with you. Hazardous waste should be taken to the environmental station in the area. Please try to make it easy for us to return the area we have rented.

How do you handle the award ceremony?
The award ceremony party will be held in the afternoon/evening after the finish. Note! No trophies or other awards will be sent; if you are not present to receive your prize, sorry, it is forfeited.

Note again! You may be rewarded even if you haven't won any class; we will be giving out some unique prizes for performances that we like in addition to being fast, so don't miss the award ceremony. The award ceremony is an excellent place to stick around to meet your racing buddies and share some stories from the past week.

Why a 60-second addition if you can't make it to the next track on time because the car broke down?
The alternative is exclusion from the competition, and that doesn't feel great. If you are given a 60-second addition and can continue the competition, you can easily see from the average time how you would have placed in the results if there hadn't been any issues.

Will you have nitrous filling and gasoline sales at the tracks?
We are negotiating with potential suppliers and will get back to you if we can resolve it.

Can my friend who is coming along as a camper have a mother tube and filling station for nitrous oxide? with him and fill nitrous oxide for me?
If your friend fills gas for the StreetWeek participants who want it, that's fine. If he only fills gas for you, he is not allowed to do it inside the competition area. He is also not allowed to transport your tanks.

I'm planning to change the oil every distance, do you take care of the old one?
Yes. There is a simpler waste station at each track where we take care of your waste.

My co-driver can only join for half the week, can I switch?
If you report it during the inspection plus that your new Co-driver has paid for a weekly pass, it will be fine. We will swap the tires between them, which means that the old one cannot be serviced anymore. If more than one change is necessary, the competition management will assess this.

The same question has different answers when I read here.
Oh dear, please email us and we'll take care of it, and you, thank you so much for the help.info@streetweek.se

What happens if I or my mechanic do something wrong at the front of the platform?
Then that lap is disqualified, so you cannot benefit from the time you received. For example, your mechanic touches the car during a burnout, or you might drive without a hood, or you decide to do a dry pull. Regardless of how good a time you get on that lap, the time is automatically disqualified without warning or notification to you.

How do you keep track of whether someone has done a set or not?
We can see that in the timing.

Do those who haven't done a rehearsal yet get priority in the lineup?
At a predetermined time, we will open a third line for those who have not had time to complete their first rehearsal; they will then be given priority over cars that have already gone through.

That line was full of people and other things last year.
If that happens when you are about to drive, let us know and we will help you move forward in the queue.

If I happen to get a red light while driving, does the scratch count then?
Yes, as long as you get a time, it counts. However, if you leave before the starter has activated the tree, you will not receive either a red light or a time.

I didn't get any time, I was just waiting for the pressure and did nothing wrong at the tree.
If your opponent crosses the finish line before you start rolling, the timing resets; you must leave the starting line before your opponent finishes in order to get a time.

I did the coolest routine on the pole all the way through and finished with a celebrated pirouette. and now I can't be part of it anymore
Well, that's what happens when you're an obvious security risk; we don't want to ruin the whole event just because you can't think for yourself.

Is it allowed to practice driving during Street Week?
The competition itself requires a driver's license, there is an exception, see the rules. During transport, however, regular Swedish law applies, and the driver during transport must be registered with Street Week as a driver/passenger.

I have a great idea that will elevate the entire event, who should I turn to?
That sounds good, email the Street Weeks event department atinfo@streetweek.se

Is it true that the organizer plans to cover the entire car with stickers?
No, it is not, five on each front screen, inspection sticker, a streamer or similar on the windshield, a class affiliation sticker on the rear window, and a starting number on the doors. Safety stickers indicating, for example, nitrous oxide, E85, etc. are additional.

Check the rules and you'll see.

I removed my decals, are there new ones?
No. Now you have big problems if you want to complete Street Week.

I don't want to put decals on my expensive paint job.
Stickers are included in the concept and should be applied.

Anyway, I ignored putting on the sponsor decal; it disturbed the aesthetics of my paint job.
Then you will not participate in Street Week either, we will exchange your racer band for a weekly pass and you will continue as a spectator.

I don't want to drive around with a starting number between the tracks.
It's up to you, but you won't be allowed into the competition area without a start number.

My window is extra super small, I can't see anything with decals on the window.
If that's the case, we'll solve it together; it might be possible to place it at the bottom of the box or, in an emergency, above the box.

But my sponsor sticker in the front window is right where you want the Street Week stickers.
Street Week "owns/has priority" to the windshield for the competition's decals. Street Week's decals have their designated spots, explain this to the sponsor before Street Week and you will see that it will be resolved.

Do you need to have a mat or some other protection under the car in the pit?
A protective mat, tarpaulin, or similar that is impermeable must be placed under the entire car in the pit. Keep the following in mind: the mat must cover the entire car; a thin Chinese press is not impermeable, and the regulations state that it must be tightly sealed. NOTE! The protection must not be screwed or nailed to the asphalt.

But I have my original car this year, don't I get to skip the environmental mat then?
Regardless of which car you plan to participate with, the rules apply to you as well.

Does the trailer have to be present during the inspection?
Yes. The trailer is registered as part of the competition team and must be present at the finish.

I realized that I needed a trailer during the week, can I just hook one up?
No, you cannot do that without time addition; any trailer is inspected at the start and checked off at the finish. Adding a trailer during the competition week costs 60 seconds.

My car broke down on the track, can I tow it back to the pit?
Of course you can, but the scratch will be removed.

Why all the time/speed indications?
The times/speeds we have set are quite low/fast, so very few will need to worry about them. The vehicles that drive faster have often met normal requirements and are not affected either; it is those who completely disregard safety that we want to warn that we, as organizers, care about our friends and that we therefore impose certain safety requirements.

My car broke down during the race, can I switch cars and take a 60-second penalty?
No. Fix your existing car, it's part of the race to get your vehicle to the finish line.

Does the cart have to be on during the race?
You are not allowed to have a trailer attached, a full roof box/rack on, or loose items in the car during the race itself.

I want a caravan after my car.
The trailer has a free size in the competition rules, and if you want to combine it with accommodation, it sounds like an excellent idea.

Can the roof rack stay on during the race?
If it is a properly secured roof rack that we believe is firmly in place, then it works.

I am staying at a hotel, can I tinker there?
For us, you can tinker all week, but ask the hotel if it's okay.

My aunt's brother's little cousin lives down the road, can I crash there?
Ask the little sprite, for us it's okay.

May I borrow the gnome's machines?
Yes, you can borrow larger machines such as welding, lathes, milling machines, lifts, and the like, but you must use tools and parts that you have transported yourself.

How do you plan to check on us along the way?
We have learned from the years before and established a good system with people who help us check; my advice is, don't trust anyone. Remember that it is a competition, and we give you at least 60 seconds if you cheat; it doesn't help to cry out on Facebook afterwards, the extra 60 seconds will remain in your result, forever.

How seriously do you actually view rule violations?
Just as seriously as you take getting a 60-second penalty. If you just want to have a fun week with your friends, then 60 seconds isn't the end of the world, but for those who are competing to win or beat their friends, 60 seconds is a significant penalty. The answer is that it’s a competition and rule violations are punished.

Tss, what talk. No one has been punished before!
Oh really, check the results then, it states there every year a number of 60-second penalties.

Is there security in the evenings? I'm planning to crash at the campsite, and it's full so I can't get my car in.
We have people on site, but basically the only thing we can check is that individuals who stay within the area have valid bands around their wrists. Everyone must help keep unauthorized people away; they are potential thieves/saboteurs.

Do I have to physically go to a Check Point and take a photo of the vehicle?
If it is full, there may of course be problems, then you will have to stand outside and take photos. Please note that it should be clearly indicated at which Check Point you are/taking photos.

Jocke's tuner connects to his car's computer to change settings. Is that OK?
Only registered drivers or co-drivers in Street Week are allowed to physically work on the vehicles, but since Jocke is your tuner, he is permitted to make adjustments to your computer.

That's great, so Kalle Tuner can come here and type on my computer then?
Yes, he can type on your computer, but no outsiders are allowed to work physically on your car.

But shouldn't one transport their tools themselves?
That's absolutely correct, but many help each other with computer beeping, so that tool is fine to carry between the cars as long as the person using it is participating in the competition.

I have a Holley carburetor, can I also get help from outside?
The same goes for you, feel free to ask someone, but only competitors with a valid Street Week band around their wrist are allowed to help physically.

Is it just transport to the destination after the last competition day?
Transport with stops at check-points before you reach the finish line during the ongoing car exhibition to conclude with a spectacular award ceremony.

Do you have to take the last transport?
Not according to Swedish law, but if you want to finish in Street Week, you have to do it. The competition ends with the finish line after the last transport stage; if you miss this, a 60-second time penalty is applied.

Who are you to determine what the normal service routines are for my vehicle?
This refers to the following text - Teams are allowed to help each other and also contribute their own spare parts/tools, provided that the work is not considered normal service routines. We who work with Street Week are in the know, we are into racing ourselves. And that "Street Week determines the boundaries if there is any ambiguity." That's us :-)

Can you borrow a car to pick something up?
If someone lends it out, that's fine. However, if you borrow a car that participates in Street Week, the regular driver must be present.

Can we take mom's car and go into town to eat, or do we have to go in the racer?
It's fine, but the race car cannot move without the regular driver/co-drivers during that time.

I got a flat tire or need to fix the tire. Can I go to the tire guy to get it fixed?
Yes, you can.

I need to change tires, the old ones are worn out. Can I go to the tire guy and buy new ones?
Yes, you can. But not by someone who has transported them around during Street Week predetermined for your profit.

When there are five minutes left of the driving time, both cars in front of me oil down the track and you won't be able to clean it up before time runs out, can I still drive?
No, if the predetermined time has expired, then the day on that track is over.

The guy standing in front of me in the lineup went to get his knitting, do I have to wait for him or can I just slide past?
The drivers must be by the cars in the lineup, but they can place a stand-in for a short while; however, under no circumstances may he delay your turn to drive. In that case, the Street Weeks staff will wave him away or past you.

My son, who is thirteen years old, acts as my co-passenger; can he be on the tablet?
Normally no, but it has been shown that some "kids" are more mature on the tablet than adults, so we trust you as a parent and will make a joint decision when we meet him.

My buddy wants to take a lap on the track, is that okay?
No, it's not okay during Street Week. If we find out that you do it, you will be spectators for the rest of Street Week.

Is it allowed to use your own track bite/grip fluid?
No.

Why can't you hold onto the car during the burnout?
For several reasons, it's dangerous, a bit foolish, and we believe that you can manage to handle it anyway.

Why are you not allowed to do stationary burnouts?
Stationary burnouts with slicks do not cause any direct damage to the asphalt. The problem lies with regular tires, which quickly create potholes in the asphalt during a stationary burnout.

What happens if I "accidentally" do an extra burnout or something else flashy on the starting line that isn't allowed?
Then the scratch is removed without you being notified, and you cannot count it regardless of how well you happened to drive.

I am extraordinarily super fast and just have to know what banbreakout is about?
We have set the ban breakout to exactly 0 (zero) seconds.

I drove over the track's photo cells, do I have to pay for them?
Yes, you have to, you have a whole track to ride on so there’s no reason to drive on the photo cells.

You can borrow tools from each other, so I thought my buddy could use my jack and then I'll borrow it when the wheels need to be changed.
If you intentionally refrain from transporting tools/spare parts that you are guaranteed to need to endure Street Week and instead let someone else transport them for you, you have used a service vehicle. If you intentionally transport tools/spare parts on behalf of someone else, you have acted as a service vehicle. Both actions are rewarded equally with 60 seconds each.

Are motorcycles allowed to participate in Street Week?
No.

I have an electric car, why is there no class for me?
We do not have the knowledge required to intervene in the event of a failure with electric vehicles, so we have chosen to exclude that type of car.

Technical questions vehicle

Why don't you require inspected cars from the vehicle inspection?
Street Week can only impose requirements within the competition area, and there we conduct a safety inspection for the competition. During the transports that take place on public roads, Swedish Traffic Regulations apply, which Street Week does not have control over.

What is meant by a permanently mounted fire extinguisher?
It should be bolted down; a plastic strap with a quick-release buckle does not count as securely mounted.

Can I cut a bit into the tire to achieve the approved thread width?
No, it is the thread width specified by the manufacturer that applies.

My car is only approved down to ten seconds at Tierp Arena, can I drive faster during Street Week?
That assessment is made by another organization and based on a distance of 402 m. Street Week runs 201 m; our rules are based on speed instead of ET, so the answer regarding your specific car thus depends on what speed you reach at 201 m.

My car is good for 5 seconds flat on the strip but only has an 8.5" "tagged" chassis, can I drive?
Your tagging applies during Street Week, but we have translated it to top speed instead. Check the rules to see which speed your tagging corresponds to.

It says a maximum of 190 km/h if you don't have a cage, which is a strange breakout.
The type of cars that participate in Street Week may not grip very well, but once out on the track, there is power for high speed, which is why we often set a speed breakout instead of a time breakout.

Who decides my security breakout then?
It is done during the Street Weeks inspection; if there are applicable safety breakouts - "tags" from another organization, they also apply here but translated into km/h.

Oh, so if I go faster than my safety breakout, I get to go home?
If you under/overshoot, depending on whether it is speed or ET, your safety breakout will occur as follows: In the event of a breach of the car's breakout, the run is canceled but counted as completed. If you breach the car's breakout more than three times during the week, you will be assigned a 60-second time penalty. This "rubber band" is because many of you do not know your car's performance.

Then we have added a few lines.
If the violation of the safety breakout exceeds 5 km/h, this corresponds to the highest level of violation and results in an immediate 60-second time penalty. Upon a second 60-second warning regarding the safety breakout, immediate disqualification from the competition occurs.

But I have a tag on my chassis that says 7.5.
That's good, it makes the inspection easier.

So I can't drive faster than 165 km/h without a bow?
If you have a car with a regular metal roof, at least a roll cage is required starting from 165 km/h and above.

How fast can you drive with a two-point seatbelt?
If you only have a two-point seatbelt, the limit is 140 km/h during Street Week, but it includes the requirement for an integral helmet with a two-point seatbelt.

What are the regulations regarding a gas cylinder in the cabin?
If you have a gas cylinder, an evacuation hose from the explosive device to the outside of the car is required. Not a hose clamp around a regular explosive device, but an explosive device intended for external evacuation, usually an AN8 connection.

Do you have to have a silencer?
No, it is not a requirement from us. BUT if you know that your car is very loud, please help to reduce the noise a bit so that Street Week can return to the tracks.

I have a complex about my sluggish engine and want to ride Zoomies.
Zoomies are prohibited during StreetWeek.

Is it allowed to use M/T ET Street Radial Pro as a street tire?
No, it states factory-patterned with at least two grooves all around in the rules, and that tire does not have that.

I don't have slicks or R-tires, nor do I have two grooves, just regular tread; can I drive?
Yes, you can, the rule is for racing-type tires, not regular tires; however, we will determine if it is a racing tire, and if we consider it so, then the minimum is two factory-molded circumferential grooves.

I want to remove the hood, a door, the trunk, or something else before the repair, is that okay?
No. You can do what you feel like during the transport as long as you follow the Street Weeks rules, but during the few seconds you travel your 200m on the track, the helmet, etc. must be on. Otherwise, the run will be disqualified and you will not be able to count the time you got. The exception to the rule is that the front light and turn signals can be removed.

But I don't have a head!
Point it out at the first report and there will be no problem. But we do not accept that you remove the hood during the inspection just to avoid having it on the track.

Is there a limit to how many drive wheels one can have in different classes?
Yes, two-wheel drive in all classes except 4WD, Diesel, Max Outlaw, and Street Outlaw.

I want to weight my car at the back to get better grip.
Nitroz technical regulations section 7.3 provides clear answers to your questions. By vehicle, it means the exterior from bumper to bumper, all weights within this area. NOTE! Beam Breakers are not considered vehicles in this case.

I accidentally forgot to put on my removable door brace before the repair.
If the car is safety inspected with a roll cage, the door brace must be installed there; otherwise, we will change your safety classification and can impose a 60-second penalty and disqualify your run. This applies to all safety details that you can remove.

My ticket was canceled because I had my laptop lying in the passenger seat.
Yep, the scratch will be removed regardless of what you have lying around in the car. Nothing loose is allowed to be in the car during the repair.

I didn't have time because the photocells moved when I took off.
If you have exhaust pipes that blow straight out to the side, you are requested to install a bend to direct the gases upward. The fact that you don't get any time because you blow away the photo cells may seem to fall under "blame yourself," but it also creates a lot of extra work for us, so fix the problem.

Damn, my chassis tag was a bit outdated, now I can't drive at full capacity.😦
Often, our inspectors have chassis tag authorization for Nitroz Motorsport. If we have someone on site and there is time, that service can be provided.

I just want to adjust a bit in the torpedo wall so that the engine can be moved back.
What we mean by adjustment is whether the compressor, turbo, exhaust system, or, for example, the distributor is interfering. Not to make room for the rearward movement of the engine. Everything has a limit.

My car has a removable cover over the transmission, does it work in reverse half?
You might be racing differently with your car where a removable cover is acceptable. If you secure the cover during Street Week and it is not easily removable, we can approve such a solution.

I'm driving a Mopar and want to bolt on a front frame, it's a minimal modification and should work like Backhalfed.
It's fine if you drive in Max or Street Outlaw, but not in a class where Backhalfed is registered. However, it's okay to replace the torsion bars with coil overs as long as they are mounted in the same place as the standard shock absorber. Yes, you can adjust the mountings so that they can be screwed on.

I drove in Ultimate Street last year with this front end and relocated firewall?
Apparently, we missed that in that case, well, it's expired now. The rules stipulate this and that, and even though we missed it last year, it doesn't mean we approve it now. But it's no problem, we'll upgrade you so you can go anyway.

My engine's valve cover is located behind the bottom edge of the windshield, can't I be included then? (Import War)
Sure, then you can switch classes from Import War to, for example, Street Outlaw.

My car doesn't qualify for the class I intended, can I not participate now?
Sure, we will classify you in a category suitable for your car only.

Can front-wheel drive cars in classes other than Import War use slicks?
Only in Max Outlaw, Street Outlaw, and in Import War.

Is it allowed to use Nitro?
No. Fuels approved for Under Street Week are Gasoline, Methanol, Diesel, and E85. The approved gas is nitrous oxide/dinitrogen.

I want to compete in the Pro Touring class, but the tire rule is really hard to understand.
We fully understand that, as we do not quite grasp how to implement the rule in text. A 17” rim diameter or higher should be understandable. Regarding the tires, if you do not have R tires or racing tires in the form of "cheater slicks" like M&H, Hoosier, etc., but rather regular tires meant for everyday driving, then there are no issues. We will determine if it is a racing tire, and if we consider it so, then two factory round tires are the minimum. Email info@streetweek.se and ask.

I am competing in True Street and have only changed the body, is that okay?
Yes, if it's a type A-body car, then Pontiac and Chevelle share the same frame, so you can swap freely. Putting an Amazon body on a Chevelle frame means you won't be competing in True Street anymore.

I am going True Street and there the maximum wheel diameter is 16”, does that also apply to the transport?
Tire and rim regulations apply only to the driven wheels and during the actual competition moment, not during transport.

Front body extensions (beam breakers) are prohibited in all classes except Max and Street Outlaw.
A front body extension is the metal/plastic piece that usually protrudes in front of the body at the front edge. The maximum protrusion for a front body extension is 1000mm measured from the center bolt of the front hub. This applies regardless of whether other cars have a longer front or not.

I want my front body extension to be as far forward as Charlie's front is, otherwise it will be unfair.
A bit unfair it is in this life, 1000 mm center front hub/front edge extension is the maximum measurement you have to live with, no matter how tall Charlie is.

So I don't need to have at least 17" in the front for Pro Touring if I'm not driving on those wheels?
Yes, you have to, just Pro Touring usually has at least 17” wheel diameter all around.

No tube chassis, it says in certain class rules, but a couple of cars are still on the borderline, right?
Sure, that's true, but still no proper drag racing chassis. We want to avoid anyone trying to "class down" themselves and thereby gain advantages. The tube chassis built like drag racing chassis should only be seen in Max and Street Outlaw.

It says that you can put a car in Impound, what does that mean?
This means that we can require one or more cars to be within an area designated by us in the depot. The reason may be that they are extraordinarily fast or suspected cheaters, and we can then keep better track to ensure that no rules are broken. This only applies to the cars that are instructed and on that track.

Is there no rule about a maximum of three scratches anymore?
No, that rule has been removed since 2022.

About transport distances

My son wants to ride along as a co-driver during the transport, is there an age limit?
No, there is no age limit for the co-driver, but he must be registered at the inspection.

My daughter wants to come along as a co-driver, do I have to pay for her?
A Co-driver is included in the price; if she is a Co-driver beyond that, she is free up to and including 14 years old. She must be registered at the secretariat.

It got fairly crowded inside the Check Points last year, do you have to drive in and take photos at the station?
If there is space, go in and take your picture, our sponsors like that. If it's full, stay outside and take your picture but be careful not to disturb public traffic and make sure it’s clear that you are in the right place, we will be checking all pictures closely.

Does the driver have to be in the checkpoint picture?
Yes

Are you planning to use my nice picture that we took at the check-point for your own use?
Yes, we reserve the right to publish it in/on alternative media. The most awesome/original Checkpoint post may be rewarded.

Can my friend bring soup and nitrous oxide, tires, etc. with him to me in his motorhome?
No, you will have to transport everything you need yourself.

But I had to buy soup, and my buddy sells the soup to me.
We will interpret your friend's transport of the fuel as the use of a service vehicle, and you are not allowed to use that.

Can my mechanic drive the motorhome and work on the race car at the track?
No, mechanics who do not travel in the competition vehicle are not allowed to work on the race car.

If we switch co-drivers with each other during transport, can they still work on the car then?
Yes, as long as they are driving in a competition vehicle, the mechanics' rights remain. But the driver must always be in "their" car during transport. No one other than black-banded racers is allowed to drive during transport.

Do the mechanics/driver have to be in the car during movement inside the gas station or at the hot dog stand?
No.

Do you have to transport clothes and hygiene products yourself? They don't exactly smell like raspberries after a day in the car.
The rules state that you must transport everything yourself.

But I'm crashing in my mom's camper.
Then you won't have to transport sleeping mats and bedding, just like if you were staying in a hotel.

Thumbs up!
When you are standing by the road and working on your car, your fellow competitors wonder if you need help; most of them slow down to ask if you need anything. This can be avoided by having someone in your group extend their hand towards those passing by and giving a thumbs up. Doing so is internationally recognized within Drag n Drive and means that no help is needed.

Security issues

 Am I insured?
Yes, during the driving on the track through Nitroz Motorsport and on public roads through your Traffic Insurance.

What is included in the insurance?
It is a simpler accident insurance for you as a driver, and it also protects third parties. The insurance is valid on the racetrack, not elsewhere.

I rolled the car on the track and the car got dented, does your insurance cover that?
No, you proceed at your own risk as in all motorsport contexts.

Is there an ambulance with staff on the tracks?
Yes, but only during the stipulated competition time.

Is there rescue/fire personnel on site?
On the track, in combination with the actual driving, there are rescue/fire personnel.

Do I need to have driver equipment?
Everyone driving must have full coverage clothing, gloves, shoes, and a helmet. Regardless of class, the rules become stricter the faster you drive and follow standard practices in drag racing contexts. If you drive fast, we require complete safety equipment; if you run around 7.0 seconds/201 meters, the mentioned basic requirements apply.

Full coverage outfit? Is it a one-piece?
Full coverage clothing means long pants, socks, and a cotton sweatshirt, leather/competition gloves, similar shoes, and a helmet on top. Welding gloves or other leather items are okay in the slower classes. Don't drag along anything made of nylon and try to convince us that it's fireproof.

Head and Neck Restraint Support (HNRS/FHR)
It means hand protection or similar hybrid protection.

Do I have to use jack stands if I have lifted the car and am lying underneath?
Yes, you must do that, even if you have only lifted the car and are warming it up, jack stands are required. If you are warming up on jack stands, someone must sit behind the wheel.

It has a fixed mounted racing seat up to 190 km/h, mine is adjustable.
If it is an adjustable chair that functions safely as a fixed installation, we approve it.

As a racing seat, the originally mounted seat of competition quality CAN be approved.
Some high-quality sports cars can be equipped with racing seats from the factory; check with Street Week if you are unsure about how we view your specific seat.

A tip in general.
Do not always strive for the lowest security level, there are two good reasons for that.

1. It is you personally who is in the car when something happens; a higher rating for, for example, clothing means that you can withstand longer in the event of a fire.

2, I assume you plan to go faster next year, why buy new safety equipment every time you upgrade the power?

Questions about support vehicles and mobile accommodation.

My friends are following with a caravan, can they come onto the track?
No, only cars registered for Street Week are allowed in the track area. If they are registered for the Camping section, they will enter there.

I have secured a sponsor, he wants to travel a leg.
Congratulations, of course he should go along. You can register the sponsor pretty much anytime during the competition. However, don't come two minutes before you are supposed to leave and think that we will stand at attention just for you; others may have come up with the same idea and are ahead in line. Also, make sure to read through the rules for sponsor rides.

Are campers racing for free inside the area?
If you sleep in your racing vehicle (car, trailer, caravan, tent, etc.) it is free. If you have someone following you with accommodation, it is extra for them.

What kind of nonsense is it that you have the right to look into the campers' vehicles?
When you purchase a camping pass/week follower, you agree that we have the right to check that you are not transporting spare parts or tools to your competing friends.

Is it allowed to drive the race car into the campsite?
No.

For me as an audience member

But hey, I am a supporter/spectator, I also want a t-shirt.
No problem, the Street Weeks event shirt and other stylish garments are available for purchase at the tracks or for those of you who can't wait, at the Street Weeks webshop.

Will you have audience admission?
Yes, it is possible to buy day passes, week passes, and even camping passes for those who want to hang out for the whole week. Check outwww.streetweek.se

Someone came and took twenty bucks from me for parking, isn't the entrance fee enough?
At certain courses, the organizing club may require a parking fee. Pay it with a smile, that money goes directly to the club.

Is there a speaker?
Yes, we have acknowledged mouthpiece Johan JZ Zetterholm behind the microphone. If you do anything out of the ordinary, whether good or not, you will likely hear about it for the rest of the week.

We want to join as PRO Spectators, meaning we want to tag along for the whole week and watch.
No problem, camping passes are available for purchase at streetweek.se, however, we only provide a limited amount of water and portable toilets.

I have to be at work, is there web TV?
Aren't you supposed to be working? :-) If you just take a look at the coffee break, check in onwww.streetweek.seSo we broadcast live from the strip every day.

I will watch the race, are there stands?
Most of the tracks lack grandstands, but you can walk around and look/chat as much as you want as long as you don't go inside the safety barriers at the track. However, keep in mind that a competition is taking place, so some may be a bit stressed and cars are constantly rolling in the pit.

We are a group of fifth graders, do we get in for free if the teacher is with us?
No, we do not believe that one can supervise more kids than what a typical family consists of, and we are on a racetrack. But if you come with your parents or similar, you are welcome.

My buddy was banned from the area.
You can become that if you don't have a valid Street Week band around your wrist, but also if you are a miserable idiot who ruins it for everyone else.

Press and image issues

I want to photograph/film the entire competition, can I get press accreditation?
You apply for press accreditation on the website under Press and Media.

I have taken photos/filmed during the event, now I want to create a calendar/film or something else with the Street Weeks logo on it and sell it.
I would not do that without an agreement with Street Week as everything related to Street Week is protected.

I was thinking of documenting my journey but want to be more visible for my sponsors' sake, can you help?
Yes, if you share the material, we will try to help, as long as it doesn't conflict with our own sponsors. Email info@streetweek.se with the question.

I got a warning for standing in the middle of the track and taking photos, what's the problem? I'll jump aside if something happens.
Respect that organizers and officials know what they are doing, and we do not issue warnings without reason. If you accumulate 3 photo warnings during the week, you will lose your photo access at the track. We do not want anyone to get hurt, regardless of what role you have.

Protest or contact the competition management.

I just have to file a protest.
Protest costs 2500:- NOTE! Only Drivers are allowed to submit a protest. If it is accepted, you will get back 2500:-; if it is not accepted, the person you protested against will receive the fee. The Street Week Sweden judging panel will decide the dispute, and then it is final.

Now I'm really grumpy, how do I protest?
Write down what you want to protest against and who it concerns, bring the money and come to the Street Weeks secretariat. We'll take a look at it, check if you are right, and act accordingly. However, please note that the deadline for protests is 30 minutes after the end of each day's competition.

I have a great idea on how I can become faster than everyone else, but I don't want to ask publicly, how should I proceed?
Email us at info@streetweek.se and we will respond via email. That is the way we want to be in contact with you before week 28.

I have asked a lot of questions on Facebook, but you are not responding.
If you email your questions to info@streetweek.se, we will respond.

At Hot Rod Magazine's Drag Week, you certainly get to do this or that.
And at Street Week, we do it this way. But good ideas and suggestions for improvements are welcomed at info@streetweek.se.
