Quick interview with Peter Johansson #16

Street Week Shop was at Kjula Dragway on June 29. There we meet Peter Johansson with his team Hangover Racing, the team has the same starting number as last year, which is #16. The idea of racing at Kjula this weekend is to test their Opel Ascona ahead of week 28, where they will compete in the Import War class. 

Everything starts well and Peter, together with his crew, manages to set a personal best on the first run. Unfortunately, it ends badly with the driveshaft breaking, but as we already know, Street Week participants are something special. We ask, "Will you be able to make it to Mantorp before the start?" Perhaps a silly question in hindsight, because without the slightest concern he says, “there's a whole week left.” Positive thoughts are how one gets through Street Week and “better for it to break beforehand, rather than during,” Peter concludes. 

This year the Ascona has received an upgraded turbo and it seems to work really well with the engine, so well that there are considerations to participate in the “sealed hood” challenge. For Peter, Street Week is a week to look forward to. Having fun and getting to floor it for 201 meters. The best part of Street Week, he says, is, as many agree, the camaraderie and the people. In his daily life, he runs his own company, which of course takes care of cars. Even though things went as they did at Kjula, the team is positive and feels calm with hopes for an intense week.
